Overview
Surat Castle is a 16th-century structure in the city Surat. Muhammad Tughlak is credited with construction of the Fort in the 14th Century in order to protect the city against attacks. He entrusted the work to Safi Agha, a Turkish soldier who had been ennobled with the title of Khudawand Khan.
